Exploring Robotics and Technology at the Computer Museum of America : Camper Day Celebration



Summer is in full swing, and what better way to spend a Saturday than delving into a world of technological wonders and creative exploration? On July 29th, 2023, the Computer Museum of America opened its doors to an exclusive event for our summer campers that left attendees awe-inspired and brimming with excitement. As valued participants of the 2023 camp of STREM HQ TECH ACADEMY, visitors were treated to a day filled with educational experiences, captivating demonstrations, and a whole lot of fun!



A Journey Through History and Innovation: Self guided Museum Tour

The day kicked off at 10am, with eager visitors gathering at the Computer Museum of America located at 5000 Commerce Pkwy, Roswell. The sprawling venue was a haven for tech enthusiasts and curious minds alike. The museum is a journey through time and innovation, offering a unique perspective on the evolution of computers, technology, and their impact on our world. From the early mechanical calculating machines to the modern marvels of artificial intelligence, every exhibit was a testament to human ingenuity and the progress of science.


Robotics at the Forefront: Mind-Blowing Demonstrations by Strem HQ FTC team Arcturus #13245

One of the highlights of the event was the Robotics Team Demonstration, which took place from 11am to 2pm. Attendees were treated to a spectacle of cutting-edge technology as the robotics team showcased their incredible creations. Students and parents alike were awed by the robot demonstrations and what more the students were also trained to drive a couple of the robots and play soccer! The demonstrations were a glimpse into the future of robotics. Enthusiastic team members explained the intricacies of the robots' design, operation, and potential real-world applications, leaving the audience both amazed and inspired.


Unleash Your Creativity: Craft Activities

For those with a creative itch, the hands-on craft stations were a haven of artistic expression. Attendees had the chance to design and build their own tech-inspired crafts, from DIY circuit projects to personalized computer-themed artwork. The craft activities provided a perfect balance to the technical demonstrations, allowing visitors to engage with technology in a more tactile and imaginative way.


Competition and Camaraderie: Games and Challenges

Engagement and interaction were key themes throughout the event, and the games and challenges segment truly embodied this spirit. The younger kids worked on putting together some awesome robots which they raced and did battles with.
