Camp Title: From Digital Design to Real Machines: CAD Modeling & 3D Printer Build
Ages: 9–14 | Week 4: June 22 – June 26
AM Topic : Learn to CAD in 3D
PM Topic : Build Your Own 3D Printer
Camp Overview:
This immersive engineering camp takes students on a complete journey from digital design to real-world manufacturing. Campers begin by learning Computer-Aided Design (CAD), creating precise 3D models with professional-style software. They explore measurements, scaling, tolerances, and design aesthetics while turning ideas into printable objects.
Next, campers move from design to hardware by building a 3D printer from the ground up. They discover how mechanical systems, electronics, calibration, and software work together to bring designs to life. Along the way, students practice troubleshooting, problem-solving, and iterative improvement—just like real engineers.
By the end of the week, campers gain a strong understanding of modern manufacturing, from concept to production. This camp is perfect for curious, tech-savvy students looking to build confidence, technical skills, and a deep appreciation for engineering.
